Description Only a few have ever seen this. A very select few.

After visiting over a few folders on one of my drives I found this and decided to drop it in my scraps for all to view. Disect it. Read in between the lines and pull from it what you might. There are plenty of methods of nebula creation. My method took 2 years to put into a form I was confident in. I was writing a texture based nebula creation tutorial but time it seems has never allowed for it's completion and at this point it will probably never officially see fruition. Thus I release this screenshot mock up of the process. You might find the final product of this walkthrough familiar. Yes, it is in fact Solace . I hope there is some piece of information that can be gleened from this else it was done in vain.

For now,

Awesome walkthrough. I have never seen a nebula done this way. Might have to try it out

Strangely insightful, and not giving any explanations will help to adopt it in a personal manner, without having 100 nebulae that look the same in a week.

I'm not much into nebula textures but I think that watching these screenshots without even a comment on how a each step follows the other is pretty, at least to a digital photographer like me who knows photoshopping programs, is eager to learn such things, but can't figure out the manipulations underneath.

I know color dodge and colorize has been used -- it sure gives me a new insight into how a digital nebula is created tho!

It would probably suprise you how little dodge and colorize were used. 90% of the base you see is nothing more than textured brushes with lighter color tone. No dodge. Colorize was only used on the final product not in the initial construction.

I think I follow exactly what you're doing here. Or at least as much as I can.

Cool, its cool to see how other artists make their nebs because i make them like 100% diff lol, except for the smudge tool

i'm not sure exactly what i'm looking... (which, i guess, show's my ignorance)... but the first six images are stunning... are they different images/photos?... or one photo that you altered?...

It is a textured brush walkthrough. Each frame is the next step in the process.
