Lol, my little Eevee looked like a rely fat cat, but it was only fur
She loves her Lions Cut, she's very happy about it (she couldn't handle the heat, poor thing)

All normal fur coats also have the same color on the skin. Even bald animals have spots
I guess there are exceptions, fur coats that are only tipped, thus skin not affected... But I thought all was.

Her fur knotted up so I had to get her shaved.

I carefully monitored Eevee even during summer, putting doggy clothes on her if it got to cold

Doesn't the fur work as a way to keep the cat cool from heat...? it can be dangerous to shave away the fur from pets like this. I've heard of a collie whose owner shaved the dog during summer, it died of the heat because of that. But I don't know, could have been rumours. :/

It depends on the fur. Norwegian Forest Cats' fur was made to keep them warm
Norway is well known for it's snow. But lately we get hotter summers and barely any snow at all in winter....
When shaving it's important to keep the animal out of direct sunlight though.

Aww, so cute! My mom has me help her cut her cats hair like that every summer. Poor Snoopy looks funny without all his fuzz, but he's just so darn cute like that

I had to give this cut to my maine coon when he got matted.... wasn't so happy about it though. Really pretty cat reminds me of my Copernicus

She's much better, but she will never recover completely
Once the kidneys are damaged they can not heal...
But she can live a close to normal life, and live for many years still.
Her special diet lacks some vital nutrition, so she will be a bit disabled. So far it only shows on her fur (it doesn't grow back out properly...)

We do those kind of cuts at my work(petsmart) I wor in the grooming section so I see this happen to lots of cats.
