I took this photo yesterday on my way to schoolThere was something about the colors, the atmosphere, it felt so mystical =^_^=
But... the cat was nothing but a black blur
This is the original (with a close up of my drawing): [link]
So, the cat is actually drawn
Closest thing to realism I've made so far (thou it looks best from a distance)
Had to use noise and burn/dodge to make it look more real, so the close up looks bad.....
But then again, I wanted the big bg, so it didn't mater
I'm pleased with the out come =^_^=
Used abut 5-6 hours

My only critique could be that the shadow does not fully connect with the body were it touches the ground. Or maybe a better way of putting it is that the shadow should be longer. But I am sure you were too busy with the cat. After all, that was the important part of the picture.
You did a great job with the highlight on the back.
As for the photo, the colors are wonderful. I also like how it seem like there is something close to the viewer on the top part of it.

The shadow is untouched from the original, so it should be correct. The problem is on the cat it self; I gave it to much light on the bottom of the feet =/

This made me smile. Taking an image with an underexposed subject (the cat) and redrawing it is a fantastic idea. Although the cat does not blend in with the background perfectly, I think that's part of the charm. It has the feel of a very intricate animated movie. I love it!

I really like the cats expression, and the drawn cat fits in well. It would be neat if you drew parts of the background too.

It is two completely different styles and at the moment they crash intoo eachother.
I belive that this image would improve alot if you drew all the other things in the same style that you have done with the cat. That would propably take ages to do but maybe it would be worth it in the end...
