I don't normally photograph butterflies. It's too much work chasing them around, and I've seen so many awesome butterfly shots that I doubt I could ever do them justice. This one just happened to sit still long enough. The wings looked metallic blue when it flew away, though I'd never guess that from this shot.Related content
