Lo and behold, this is the first time I've properly inked anything digitally!

I took a quick pencil sketch from March last year, and I decided to try and see whether I was any good at digital inking. Subjectively, it went well; I've been using a tablet for coloring for a few years now, and I guess over this time I've acquired the necessary hand-eye coordination to achieve a somewhat precise "ink" line. The great thing about digital inking is that the line weight really is responding as if I'd use a "real" brush. I love varying line weights, and have always been unsatisfied with the fact that I couldn't really vary them as much as I'd like to when using pens/fine-liners. But inking on paper, I still have a lot more conscious control over the line. Oh well. Let's see what the future brings.

Oh, and the sketch was really loose, and I didn't even try to achieve "realistic" proportions. It's more cartoony than what I usually go for when working on the comic.
