The title says it all: This is my cover for the final chapter of Heroes Unite (starting today), the dd-award-winning community project which I am proud to have been a part of since the very beginning.Heroes Alliance will carry on the torch though
Featured here are Bombshell (who was actually created for the very first chapter of Heroes Unite, or, to state it more bluntly: Without Heroes Unite, there would never have been a Bombshell comic) and the HU Commander, a character created by and originally designed by Quentin Peterson for the second HU chapter. I redesigned her a bit for chapter 3 ("EGO" - the first chapter I wrote and coordinated), and she still remains one of my favorite designs to this day. For this reason, while Nepath simply suggested a Bombshell pin-up for this cover, I just HAD to include the Commander.

Blonde Marvel and I signed up to do a few pages for "Heroes Unite: Waking Storm" last year some time but I see the HU project is ending. Still BM did appear in one story, so that was cool. Heroes Unite Forever!

Yup, Nepath changed his plans regarding HU since last year. But maybe we could arrange for a Blonde Marvel appearance on HA somewhere down the line...?

All right, I'll put BM on the list in the HA forums so we don't forget about her! The next chance to include her would probably be chapter 4, tentatively titled "fanservice chapter", written by fukujinzuke

If I had known I was essentially working on a the first chapter of a spiritual sequel series when I jumped on one year ago, I would have jumped even higher at the opportunity. XD
That being said, I applaud the creators that started it all, and it's been an honor penning the first two chapters of the series that will carry the torch. ^^

On the downside though, I would really have appreciated if someone had told me Al would use a teleportation abduction too. Then I could have made ours a bit funnier! Now it just feels like I've ripped him off. XD

Well, actually I'm kind of relieved that it'll be next year... so I don't have to worry about more stuff this year. No wait, that sounded negative... I AM looking forward to it, of course!
But yes, I'll try to make up for it. With a dream sequence featuring the Commander... or something.

Very awesome cover, it stinks that HU will be finishing up, but I know HA and all the people who work on it and regularly check up on everything will be fine

Thank you! Look at it this way - HA has many of the same characters and contributors as HU. If HA hadn't started a bit early to compensate for a gap in HU's schedule, it would have neatly transitioned, and it might have been clearer that HA is nothing but the continuation of HU. Also, many of Nepath's titles will carry on storylines from HU too.

Oh I know that my friend, and I am happy that HA is going to pick up where HU finishes, and we will still see some of HU is Nepaths works as well, and just like in HU, HA is going to introduce people to new and interesting characters like HU, and instill confidence in people who wish to draw comics, but are afraid of their drawing power.

HA and HU are extremely similar, and it might not have made much sense for them to co-exist longer than they did. HA started a bit earlier than was planned, but it had really been meant as the continuation of HU all along. (Of course that doesn't mean I won't miss HU too
