[Hey! All my exams are finally over, so I thought in celebration, why not release another chapter of Angst? This one's an good one, so good luck!]The Resurrection:
Travellers began to flood the town like wildfire, all muttering and whispering about this sudden, spontaneous gathering announced by Dream. Even now, more were still pouring into the country, staring in wide-eyed confusion, an invitation tucked into their pockets or crushed between nervous fingers.
Please meet at L’Manburg, below the button bunker at noon. Yours sincerely, Dream.
The conscription had been sent to everybody across the land, from Kinoko Kingdom to the Greater Dream SMP. Amongst the masses of unidentified faces, stood a blonde-haired boy, who simply stared at the crater. Nostalgia haunted his bones, whilst an eerie feeling manifested at the bottom of his stomach.
At the other end of the crowd, two men approached slowly, one with short salmon-coloured hair, the other with golden hair, tipped with grey strands. Their eyes gazed at the amount of people that had turned up to the country, some who had sparked certain feelings within them. Multiple members of EO16 (Embodiment of 16) were there, gossiping to one another regarding current events.
As the two met eyes, the Green God began to approach the cliff of the crater, and the whispers of the wind disappeared in an instant, drawn to the attention of Dream studying his audience. He wore a midnight turtleneck, accompanied by a viridescent hoodie, and black jeans. He stood there like a god, overlooking his world, his creations, his story.
‘Thank you everyone for meeting here at such short notice, I apologise for any inconvenience.’ He announced, smirking mysteriously. ‘ I want to begin by remembering the events that once took place here, many moons ago.The deception of a tyrant. The betrayal of a friend. The execution of a son, a brother, a twisted man.’
Techno glanced over to Phil, who was heavily breathing, his eyes fixated to the stone floor. He worried for his friend, but knew this wasn’t the worst to come.
‘I understand this is upsetting for some of you, remembering Wil and the events that occurred here, but I think we can all agree that if it didn’t happen then, it inevitably would have. Now, I know that I haven’t been the greatest leader, but I have been developing something magnificent. Something cathartic. Something astounding. I have been developing, and experimenting with this new found power, and after years, I’m happy to introduce you all to it.’
Instantaneously, he shut his eyes, and furrowed his eyebrows to concentrate. Everyone was transfixed by curiosity. Some say that curiosity killed the cat, but in fact, I believe it gave it more life. The Green God moved his hands as if he were holding something, and extraordinarily, a green orb appeared and a vivid, emerald light appeared around him. As he opened his eyes, they beamed, glowed, stung of neon verdant.
The crowd started to chatter, some scared, some excited. To Tom, confusion greeted him with open arms. Dream had always told him his plans prior to an event, but this? He was informed of none of this. He didn’t even know of the magic that he possessed. To Techno, curiosity engulfed his insides like a rapidly spreading disease. He always had a gut feeling that Dream was different, and now he finally knew why.
Dream began to chant something nobody could hear, and dark, olive storm clouds swiftly took over the sky, rumbling with thunder, and screeching with lightning. Suddenly, a stroke of lightning hit the floor a few feet away from Dream. A tall figure materialised by side of him, to which the crowd gasped with terror, and shock.
Phil stood in pure disbelief and terror, and ran to his home, and down to his basement, whilst Techno stared at the other man. Something was different about him, he knew he was not the same man that had plotted against Manburg with him, he couldn’t put his finger on it. Tom’s eyes widened, and filled with stinging tears. A hole in his heart was finally filled back up. His brother was finally back. Wilbur was back.
Wilbur looked at his hands, which were now covered with discoloured skin, as if he was stitched together like frankenstein. The last thing he remembered seeing was a loud train approaching the dark, abandoned station, with a familiar face greeting him.
‘Welcome home, Wilbur.’ The Green God exclaimed, as the dark clouds disappeared.’How do you feel?’
Wilbur looked to the crowd, the buildings, and sky and said:
‘It feels good to be home. Did you miss me?’
