Quick PSA before the back/forward links:

As you can plainly see, this chapter header is quite... different. x'D This will be the first instance of one of these "other chapters" flitting between the regular ones with Parch. What we're about to see did not exist at all in the old fanfic version of the comic, it's unique to this version, and also incredibly important to it. But fair warning that you may experience a bit of narrative whiplash at first... this will be a very different place, time, and set of characters than anything we've seen so far, and it may even feel like a different story for a bit. But it's not, it's all VERY related, trust me, I have seen all from my lofty perch of Author's Omniscience. x'D I've done everything humanly possible to reduce Whiplash, but it might be that at least a little bit is inevitable. If you're invested in the story so far, though, it would do you well to stick with it through these... the ultimate ending of the story is not going to make sense or have emotional impact without these parts! :'3

All that being said, let us continue the story...
