Sorry not sorry about the fanart spam. This time it's Gravity Falls.I definitely have a thing for dapper, cheery villains dressed in yellow. Not quite how I envision him in a human(oid) form, but apparently I don't get it right on the first try usually.
Remember back when I did that piece of T'Auna? This is a lot closer to what I wanted.

Y'know, after looking over that page, I can definitely agree it sounds like that, which is a pretty great catch!
As for the King in Yellow, I can't say I've ever heard of it, but I'll into it at some point, perhaps, it does appear interesting. Thanks for the rec!

No problem, there seems to be basically two versions of the King in Yellow, one that harkens back to the original book and other surreal mid 19th century literature like Lord Dunsany's work. That version influenced the First Season of True Detective.
The other version was co-opted by H.P. Lovecraft & crew linking it with Hastur and The Yellow Sign, where originally those were not all expressly interwoven IIRC.
