Indeed, most console game conversions for PCs tend to be measured by what we expect from what a PC can do - that is, much better than any console. Conversions that often loose points on reviews tend to be the ones that use the same low-res textures, and/or locked low-res screen sizes. We expect much more on a PC.

People says a lot of stuff whether it's stupid or acceptable. You're the only one who can decide the outcome and sometimes I choose to ignore it to represent something. It doesn't mean the idea is a failure.

but the idea behind it itself is actually very flawed, as the AMD vs Nvidia battle is slanted on nvidia, showing to have life-like image
quality compared to AMD, but in actuality, they both look the same.
So the main idea behind it is not a failure, but is so inaccurate :T

I never used AMD and this is not a battle between graphics card. It's the battle of graphics gens.
Look how I interpret PS2 graphics away from everything, it's because PS2 has fair graphics, longer and better gameplay. They're nearly perfect when it comes to gaming experience. The new gen is all about how better the graphics is, how much DLC can you get, what expansion pack would they add which is stupid. PS2 here represents my art style.

There's always arguments everywhere, you can't deny that.
But just look at it this way, in comparisons to the old gaming since PS2 and below.
The marketing is about the gameplay, style, worth, length and other achievements to unlock. Secrets, easter eggs.
Look at the gaming now... DLC everywhere. Fighting the Hidden boss requires you DLC and to fight him, you need new maps from Expansion pack. WTF.
We don't have those much in PS2, PS1, and old Potato OS but look how memorable the game is including the gameplay. It didn't require decent graphics to be playable nor having best graphics card.
I used Nvidia just to answer your other comment but I don't dis on AMD. I believe they have different use and potential and some just got it because it's the only option especially for laptops.
But I want to remind you, in gaming, it's not all about graphics. It's how much it's worth and is the price you paid for worth. Cause the game plus DLC and Expansion pack will range you around $200+ in total.

I agree with you there. in the PS2 area and early PS3, gameplay (as well as the little secrets) is what many games did.
but now looking at our current generation, our games are just DLC after DLC.
the only games that did extra content well (in my eyes) where WoW and Skyrim.
the major difference between AMD and Nvidia is that AMD cards work hotter but are cheaper. Some
people don't, as you said, have a choice in the matter due to how the device was made
Oh hell no, graphics are nothing compared to game play. One of my favorite games of all time, minecraft, has terrible graphics due to how it is, but
play very well. I do have to say that I am a little biased to how the game looks, considering I mod my skyrim to hell and back.

I'm glad we're on the same boat on this one. I just like it when you have to find the objective yourself and there's no such thing as indicator or so which makes the game more challenging, more satisfying, and more effort to actually look for it instead of having it magically known by someone which is to me, doesn't make sense. When it says investigate this specific item, how the hell did they somehow magically found that item to be in the storage instead of a house full of enemies.
That's also my other problem in regards to DLC and Expansions. It just cracks me up when I saw that DLC from tales to get +10 levels for $4.99 wtf, it will take me some grinding and probably having fun playing the game to level up than just paying a $5 that I could be buying Cheetos Family Size or Doritos with a Pepsi. (See what I did there) I just don't most of the DLC is worth the price. Battlepacks in battlefield is random so paying it sucks so bad. Also in final fantasy new gen. You have to buy their stupid DLC to unlock a weapon and a final boss and a secret mission but once you finish the mission itself, you have to buy an expansion pack to actually beat the boss. WTF is wrong with these guys? Don't they have enough money, why do they need to grab more from DLC and Expansion packs.
I know about AMD, heck AMD is always release higher ups away from Nvidia and cheaper in trade off it's durability and potentially overheating your PC unless you have airconditioned room. Some AMD brand was built in. For me, I don't mind what GFX it is as long as I'm able to play it smoothly without problems. Heck, most of my graphics cards are Nvidia so I have no problems with them... yet.
Gameplay is important. It doesn't have to be realistic. Why are games today aiming for realism? Why are people so obsessed to recreate the stupid world. I means where's the fun with all of that. It's just a game in the end no matter how you play it.

yeah. Games that do give a vague area of where the item are, but don't show it's
location blatently are really nice, as it makes you think of where it could possibly be instead
of being shown blatently infront of you
some DLCs should have been updates. A big example is all of the smaller DLCs that add new weapons
into the game, which should have been there in the first place (payday 2 being a huge example). and I did see
what you did there, but it's mountain dew, not pespi ( if it was the MLG reference you where going for).

I think the whole "realism" trend is growing because people want to be something they
can't be, but could be able to. Personally, I would pick a game where I got to be a
giant robot that turns into a truck slashing other giant robots that turn into planesΒ

It's like a puzzle game where there's so many possibilities a following item is which is taken out. This is why if you check the game, the Last of Us. It has decent graphics and almost perfect gameplay even in grounded mode where HUD is taking out but you have to be smart to gather your supplies and locate probably best items to pick while you're on the run away from horde of infected.

Well, it's great to picture yourself in a game where the reality is you however look at the trades off. Look at the games that has short story. If it wasn't for online, some of those games are a failure. Have you check Mercenaries 1 and 2, you can destroy pretty much everything including buildings, trees, humanity. It's like a GTA with destructive environment. GTA itself represents realism of west coast but still stupid cause if GTA wants realism then put wanted detection on redlight crossing. It happens all the time in LA.
Fallout, if you got one including the new one. Man, I'm playing it now. Decent graphics, almost great gameplay like The Last of Us. Only few games is acceptable with high graphics but I'm still sticking my nose on my old PS2. Most of the games there can be multiplayed without losing it's quality with a fair graphics.
