Description
A sudden, loud hiss from behind startled Finch, and they turned around quickly to see what could be the cause for Frosty's distress. A few feet away the blue kitbull, splayed out over its small mound of hoarded miscellaneous treasures, was growling, fur bristling, and body trembling with anger, at an unseeable threat somewhere near the pile. Finch, who had been nearby gathering crystals for the kitbull to feed on, set down their small harvest and hastily ran over to investigate. Cautiously they approached, and began to ready themselves for a fight. Was it possible that the reason for all of the recent kitbull disappearances was a threatening assailant? If so, Finch was prepared to protect Frosty with their life! No one would lay their hands on this small furball. Upon nearing the pile however, Finch struggled to see anything at all. In fact, it wasnt until they kneeled down directly next to the pile, and pushed aside some grass that they noticed the cause for Frosty's alarm. Small, round, and a little bit slimy. A tiny, green frog had taken up residence between the soft ground and an object from the kitbulls hoarde, and Frosty himself had not taken all too kindly to the intrusion. It seemed that any threat to this puff's hoarde was a major one. Even if the 'threat' wasnt really a threat at all. Smiling, Finch leaned over and carefully lifted the frog from its hiding spot and into their firm grasp. Upon seeing the slimy critter now out in the open Frosty bravely leaped off of their pile towards the intruder and their hissing intesnified."It's okay!" Finch whispered, their calm voice barely audible above the ferocious growls and barks that were coming from their fiesty companion. They examined the frog, looking it over with a careful eye to make sure it had not been harmed. It seemed fine, and for the most part, except for the panic, so did Frosty. Moving slowly so as not to startle either of the two agitated parties, Finch stood and walked a few feet away to a lush patch of grass that would allow the tiny frog some more privacy. Pushing the taller clumps aside, they set the frog gently down in the middle of the patch and waited a few seconds to be sure that the little critter was safe before returning to the distressed Kitbull behind them. Reassuringly they spoke, "Just a little frog, looking for a place to stay!" They patted Frosty on the head softly hoping it would help to calm him. His velvety fur bunched up between their fingers. "He's looking for a home just like you! There's no need to be scared." They laughed quietly and swooped the now placated kitbull up into their arms. (For his size he was actually.. kind of heavy.) Shuffling a few inches over, they set him down gingerly upon his treasure hoarde once again, and smiled at him before wandering off to continue their crystal harvest once more.
