The Gem Homeworld and the Irken empire, such different creatures.Seriously, if Homeworld and the Irken empire were to both come after Earth, it's going to look a lot like the invasion of occupation of poland by the Nazis and the Soviets. The Gems killing humans for fun while the irks enslave them into forced labor.
But at the core, they hate each other and will eventually betray one another.
If there is such thing as space nazis or space soviets, there will always be such thing as Space polesOff to the Corner, Corneriaball/USaball waits. silently plotting to "Liberate" these two aggressors.

I wonder how SU Humanity would react if their saviors were literally a race of talking animals.
And in this scenario, Corneria has grown to hate these two empires, since before this pic:
- The entire lylat system was dragged into a second lylat war with Homeworld after they attempted to conquer Sauria.
- The Cornerians witnessed the Irken Empire conquer Cerinia (Krystal's home planet) and turn the entire planet into a Brothel. Effectively violating the Cerinian species and forcing them to live out the rest of their existence as prostitutes and sex slaves. Both that and they not only are a space equivalent of the soviet union, but also a space equivalent of North Korea since they would openly threaten Corneria with destruction only to take back their threats once Corneria begins to take action. Attempts to send irken invaders to lylat failed and these same invaders either commit suicide on capture or are executed.

I suppose so. (How are they like the Soviets exactly?) Also, I get the feeling homeworld is kinda like the soviets too. They might also have something in common with the way India worked for a long time, having a caste system and all.

this is more on the fact that if one alien empire met another alien empire, they will kill just each other.
