Description
Due to the existence of gem creatures in Steven universe, long before rusticles began to grow on the Wreck, these strange crystalline growths appeared a few years after the sinking. they are created by a gem-organism, similar to the bacteria that formed the rusticles, but instead, created the growths depicted here.

Unlike the rusticles, they grew more slowly, and ate less of the minerals of the steel.

These crystals are orange colored since they are made of the minerals that made up the metal in the wreck. the have luminescence and actually can glow underwater, causing the wreck to give off a strange and haunting atmosphere.
