Description

R-056 [Burn] stops to take a drink of water as they travel through Red Gouge, one of the three natural valleys through the cliff system separating the Southern Jungles from the desert-like Fellenlands north. While Nagogin are one of the few land-bound species capable of scaling the Gourge's treacherous walls, R-056 does not. It's likely that they are unable, or perhaps they would rather remain close to the only water source for kilometers. Either way, their migration is a slow - but peaceful - one.

Little slice-of-life piece I've had in mind for a while. Even though I've mostly sketched the arboreal side of nagogin, a good chunk of them (mainly red-morphs like Burn) prefer to inhabit the deserts and mesa ranges of the Spine. The morph's camouflage and greater physical strength makes them the absolute apex predators of these regions, though they must forgo the prey security of the jungles.

Finally found the energy to finish this one, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. Had the sketch back in December, but dropped it for a while thinking I wouldn't be able to pull off the composition. Glad I stuck with it.
