Description
Just a quick painting I did based on a scene from my favorite piece of paleo media. The Rite of Spring sequence in Fantasia 1940 is something really spectacular and inspires me each and every day. I wanted to paint the shot where the doomed stegosaurus first notices the arrival of the Tyrannosaurus, but update the stegosaurus to make it a bit more accurate. I still wanted to maintain the overall style of the animation and I think I managed that by making everything super simplified and with light and shadow giving suggestions of the shapes and whatnot. I might do some more modernizations of the Rite of Spring, but my class load this semester is pretty intense so I may not be able to, but I'll try.
