"Is your show starting soon?" Jarin's voice crackled through the phone speaker, Lukas glanced at the phone, it was shaking back and forth, Jarin's blurry face was whizzing by, "Yep, Soon. what are you doing?"
"I'm walking into the barn! what's it like over there?"
Lukas chuckled and grabbed his dressage hat from the small table to the right of him, "Pretty fancy, decorated, it's storming outside though. I'm glad they moved the Dressage class indoors. there are flowers too, they geared up for spring."
"Ohh I like flowers!~"
"Yeah, It's pretty nice-"
"Hey, Lukas" Sophie knocked and grinned "You have to hang up, its almost your turn."
"Alright" Lukas grabbed his phone and held it out, "One final look over?"
"I think you look great! go have fun! oh and give Fame from attention from me! Good Luck Lukas!" Jarin waved at the camera, Lukas waved back and clicked the little red button, he looked up at Sophie, "did Vermont tack Fame for me?"
"She did, You'll have to thank her when you see her."
"Of course"
Before he could exit the door Sophie interjected, "About what happened a few days ago, I'm not trying to rush you. Just know I'm sorry if it bothers you but the position is always on the table if you find you're interested."
"It's not that I just." He didn't want to worry Sophie about anything, "Need time to think about it." Lukas smiled, hoping it would ward off any questions she had.
"Oh sure, by the way. Leon told me you'd be interested in getting yourself a horse and paying board for it?" Sophie raised an eyebrow, curious.
"Oh, he mentioned that? Yeah, I talked about it. I love all the horses you guys let me use and I'm close to buying fame off Vermont as well but I would love to own my own horse and board it at Acetoma. "
"I understand, that's why-" she paused and grabbed a flyer from her pocket, grinning wide, "I found this and want you to go check it out. It's a Donstrupper auction in Canada! You can test out the horses and see if any speak to you. and if you want to pay for boarding I'll just take it out of your paycheck." she held the flyer out towards him.
Lukas was shocked but took the flyer, he looked over it and a smile spread across his face "really?" when Sophie nodded he hugged her, "Thank you, I'll look into it!" he put the flyer in his suitcase and waved to Sophie as he headed down the hall toward Fame.
He was extremely excited about the prospect of getting his own horse and paying board.
Everything was going wonderfully, the road bumps were just that. road bumps, he was potentially getting his own horse, Fame was almost paid off so he would soon own his best friend personally instead of Fame being owned by the stable, he was potentially getting a new, high position...that he was sure about, he wanted it. but what if he was like his father...as much as he enjoyed teaching people.
He cleared his thoughts and grinned at Vermont, The girl smiled back and waved enthusiastically, "I have Fame ready to go!"
"He looks great, Thank you" Lukas put his foot in the stirrup and hoisted himself up on the studs back, he leaned forward and gave him a couple of pats, he nodded to Vermont who grinned as he headed into the arena, He had a lot to think about, but for now he had to focus on his show.
