Watercolor, ink and some editing in Photoshop.This is my version of the final confrontation between Moriarty and Holmes, based on the modern update of Sherlock Holmes' adventures (Sherlock BBC). The second season has not been released yet but the Reichenbach storyline is included. So I'm geeking out and speculating about possible outcomes with fan art while I wait.
The original tale (The Final Problem) had the Great Detective tumbling over a waterfall in Switzerland while grappling with the Napoleon of Crime. That is, until Holmes returned in The Adventure of the Empty House.
This version from my imagination is more urban, modern and deadly. Survival is a possible I suppose. But it will certainly be a spectacular, bloody conclusion.
I don't own any of the faces, images, etc. This is just my inner-fangirl having some fun.

I like your take on how it should have ended - reminds me of the original Sidney Paget illustration from the "Final Problem" story in the Strand Magazine of 1893. Of course now we know it ended differently in the modern series "Sherlock", with Holmes suppoedly falling but Moriarty a suicide. Sad about that latter part - I liked Andrew Scott's narcisistic show-off Moriarty a lot, and hoped he faked it too.

I love this..the style is so different and interesting! I cannot watercolour to save my life, so this looks all the more impressive.
Didn't think about this too deeply but the choices are fell, jumped, or was pushed. Hopefully, if anything, it's the last one. And hopefully the writers won't be trolls and screw it up.

Apparently, it'll be a 70 foot drop from a building. Damned leaked photos. If they don't want the photos to be leaked, then I suggest they DON'T upload them onto any website or computer until the season's ended :/....
In the leaked pic, Sherlock looks awful. Well, not DRASTICALLY, but still. Just not right, I guess I can put it.
BBC's pretty ticked about it being spread (what else did they expect?).
Although I'm a Sherlock Holmes fan, especially the BBC's adaption of it, and although I knew of the supposed death and Conan Doyle's Hiatus (Sherlock's Hiatus), I can't help but wonder if Steven and Mark will continue after that? I mean surely they can't end it there. But if they continue, where will the go? I mean, BenedictC Sherlock retired and in a bee farm? Wut? I don't think that's something to look forward to, even the writers would agree.
AHHH Now I'm all bothered. Still *grumble* can't wait till January for the new season *grumble*

Sherlock is still alive. They'll be bringing him back, and it will probably be like "Empty House", but modern and significantly more dramatic. Don't worry, no doubt that they'll make it work out in the end.

Thank you. I'm glad the movement comes through in the picture! That's what I wanted, to heighten the sense of danger. I terrified of heights myself, so this was a tough one. Now I can't wait for the second series of the program.

Thanks! I wanted to use the same cool, muted tones of the show but with my own drawing style. I'm pretty happy with it, considering I don't paint backgrounds often. Now I want to make more!

Thank you! I wanted Moriarty to look disbelieving, and Sherlock to be determined (at any cost) to end him. Sherlock's nobility is what makes his cold side forgiveable. To do what's right, no matter what the outcome. I think it's heroic in the extreme.

Thank you! I wanted to capture the color/mood of the show but keep my style too. I love the series so much, and I tend to be critical of any interpretation of Holmes. But they did it so well, I can't wait for more.

Oh, I know! And I'm so sorry. And not sorry at all, too. Hee. I plan on curling up on the sofa with a box of tissues and watching it over and over so I can cry until I pass out. Because we all know what's coming. I just want him to survive it, truly. I hope he lands on top of Moriarty and miraculously walks away from it all.
