While it is too early to judge the effectiveness of the Alpha Series in permanent bond with the 'Little Ones' program, early trials seem to be immense improvements over the previous aloofness shown by Big Daddies.
In fact, the new bond seems to have made the Big Daddy subordinate to the wishes of the Little One to an extrodinary degree. For example, earlier today while collecting data on subject Alpha 12- codename LANCELOT- and the Little One- codename GALAHAD, it seemed GALAHAD managed to persuade LANCELOT to tolerate close monitoring by a Big Sister. LANCELOT has been observed to be extraordinarily aggressive and protective of his Little One, tolerating no one- not even researchers- to come near. His cooperation with the Big Sister was outstanding, and it seemed GALAHAD referred to the Big Sister as 'Mommy'. An anomaly in behavior for all of them, this warrants further research.
I think I shall codename Big Sister 17 ELAINE to keep with the Arthurian theme. I am quite anxious to see how this situation resolves.

Um~ Hm, how to best explain this...
No, they're people (in this case, Sonic characters) who are grafted/stuck in diving suits. Shadow is modeled after a Big Daddy, who are heavy, lumbering protectors of Little Sisters (in this case, Little Brother) who go around Rapture, the undersea dystopia where the game is set, harvesting ADAM from dead bodies. ADAM is the key to the genetic manipulation that took the city by storm and led to its downfall, and the remaining lunatics are out to get them. Rouge is modeled after a Big Sister, which are grown up little sisters who protect in a completely different way. They're incredibly fast and they retrieve Little Sisters or the ADAM stolen from them in the most lethal of ways, and in the 2nd game, they do /not/ get along with the protagonist Big Daddy, Subject Delta.
I'm not sure if they get along with Big Daddy's overall, actually, but I was under the impression they tolerated but did not particularly enjoy.
Anyway, I hope that cleared some things up, but I heavily recommend playing Bioshock~ It's an awesome game where the plot is engaging, the environments keep you interested and discovering new things, and just a whole lot of fun. =]

one thing by the time big sisters were around all of the alpha series had lost their little sisters with the exception of delta

Yeah- but they were the original big daddies, they´ve obviously had more exposure to splicers and whatnot, I just never assumed it´d take the little sisters so long to grow up. XD
