Description
My apologies to all I owe emails, phone calls, or even work to, but I will be unable to be indestructable PopTart today and for a while. I thought once there was nothing I couldn't do, but I've put my golden tiara on the shelf and my cape in the closet, I've found the foe I cannot beat. There were so many thoughts I thought it could be when I put my sweet Krypto in the Jeep today to have x-rays taken of his leg. How foolish of me to think arthritis would be the worst case scenario. I nearly fell to the floor in tears when they brought the x-rays for me to view. It appears to be bone cancer. But we most wait for the radiologist to confirm before we take the next drastic measure to remove it before it spreads. The only good news is they x-rayed his chest and his lungs are clear which is usually where I guess it would spread next. But the bone is so fragile, we have to be super cautious about his movement for it can easily break at any moment. I think we may have to move our bed downstairs just to keep him level and away from all the steps in our house.
This is my baby lupine, my sweet and crazy and super fast dog who wears the infamous "S" from Superman on his chest (okay, his collar) because he was named Krypto, after Superman's own loyal companion.
I'm devastated, only minutes out of the exam room, I feel I cannot even talk anymore, I'm shaking and somehow thought maybe posting something here would help. Maybe somehow this is the way I have to confront it right now, else it may kill me. I thought I was Wonder Woman, but no one seems to be able to deflect bullets from cancer. Maybe it's silly and childish to even try and pull strength from a fictional Amazon, but right now, I do what I can.
I will be unreachable for a while. Please understand.
I love you my darling.

He's doing FABULOUS!!! Thanks for asking. He had a leg removed and went through a lot of chemo, but he's outlived what all the doctors told us and I'm so happy to look over while I work on the computer and see him on the couch sleeping peacefully or playing with his toys.

We rescued Krypto from a shelter when he was just a puppy and already had two cats, took some getting use to, but they all got a long. I worked at a cat shelter and ended up with a 3rd kitten who came into our household and became part of the family. Then we ended up rescuing a Rottweiler who was about 9 months old and huge and for whatever reason, he got along with everyone in this house perfectly. Now I don't know if he's just so freakin' big, the cats didn't register on his radar at first or what! But he gets along with them, occasionally the dogs try to play with the cats which doesn't work, the dogs are just too big!

Indeed, dogs are too big for playing with cats!! If they get used to each other when puppys, sometimes it works!!!
I would love to get a puppy and try, but right now I´m not sure if I can do that, ´cause I´m finishing college and gotta find some work... Maybe when I put my life back on it´s way! Than I´ll try to find a dog cute as yours!! xD

Well these dogs are pretty big to play with the cats, haha, although Krypto does lay down and play with the cats a little!
Yeah, it's best if you've got a lot of time to spend with a puppy or even a dog just so you can make them feel comfortable and train them. A lot of animals just get too anxious and chew up stuff and such if left alone for too long. Our one Rottie was a lot like that (but he was also abused too, so we've had to work with him a lot to not be so scared). But yeah, when you finish college and feel like you're on the right path - visit your shelter if you decide you're ready! There are so many good pups needing homes!
Good luck to you sweetie and yay for you recognizing that you may not have the time to devote to a dog right now. Too many people get caught up in the cuteness factor and forget it can be a lot of work and it can be costly. (Krypto here was diagnosed with bone cancer and we've gone through a leg amputation and several chemo sessions.)
xoxo

Thanks!!!^^
If more people could think enough to see if they really will have time to take care of a puppy beafore getting one, we wont see so many dogs and/or cats in the streets!! Every animal need attention and time to take care!
Next year I hope I can take my life on its way and with time enough to take a better care of my pets and if possible of a new puppy!! It´s like you´ve said; there are so many good pups needing homes, maybe I´ll find a hoem to another one!
Today I found a new cat at home! He was a little bit scared with me, so I left some food and water in a place that he can find easily and eat a little! Even been without time, cats are a little bit easyer when they´re not puppys ´cause if you give him some food, sometimes he can get used to by himself! Anyway, I´ll work as possible with him!
And about Krypto, what happened to him? Is he ok? How is he going with all of that? I hope that everything is ok!!
And thank you for all the tips!!!

Blessings to the both of you during this time. It is especially tough when we cannot fix it when something is wrong with our children. I do hope for the very best for the both of you.

This picture is so very touching and reminds me of my own dog, Lucy that passed last year. She was struck by a car and she looks so much like your own dog only differing in color. I'm so sorry he has bone cancer, but he looks like a hero to pull right through. I'm sure with his courage and yours, he will do so. <3 give your baby kisses from me and Lucy
