One Ring to rule them all,One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all,
And in the darkness bind them.
It's done!
I had so much fun drawing this one! I watched the Hobbit in December, and I just knew I had to draw something for it!
It's definitely one of, if not the most, time-consuming drawings I've ever done.
The size is A2. that is 420 x 594 mm (16.5 x 23.4 in)
LOTR is pretty much the most amazing film ever made, and the Hobbit was right up there.
Now for some thoughts from me about this image.
The idea was to show how the ring brings all these people together in it's evil way. I could have used Frodo instead of Bilbo, but i just loved Martin Freeman so much that i had to use him. At least it is a hobbit.
Mars Lumograph graphite pencils and Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils.
I hope you guys like it!
One pencil was killed in the making of this drawing, and one badly injured.

This is art, a lovely job with every detail. I especially like the expressions of the characters, their faces (and eyes) make me feel a real emotion and also the hair/barb. Apart is the fine work with the ring, have the small details with a special care... in few words you are a wonderful artist.

Wow, the sheen of the ring is incredible. I love the way it is colored, so that it is clear it's the focus of the picture and how it draws them all together. Not to mention the detail put into the characters. You really got the look in Gandalf's eyes down, that expression he always has. My only complaint would be that the shading on his beard makes it look a bit dark, and it threw me momentarily as I thought it was supposed to be brown. But that sort of thing isn't easy. This is quite a feat!

I have seen all 3 LoTR a few times but can't go to the cinema so will see the Hobbit when it comes on TV unless I find a naughty copy on the net.
