Description
This, brothers and sisters, is the Great Wall of China. Pretty spectacular, eh? But the location isn't the point. The wall itself would bend and curve like nobody's business, and of course it stretched for miles. The background view was one to get anyone - random mountains springing up are usually one of those "whoa" features.
But the best thing about the wall... was what was written. The bricks were littered with hundreds of signatures, sentences, wishes, prophecies, and even dreams. I could only read some of writing (my Chinese isn't really that developed yet...) but the meaning was still there.
The combination of such words written on such a grand piece of architecture, along with the seemingly surreal landscape, was truly humbling.

I like the purpose of this picture more than the actual scene; the fact that it's very sobering to walk the Wall of China and see the bricks having been written on by so many, many different people. Very beautiful concept.

OoO! Nice stuff. I like how, in full veiw you can see things people wrote/scratched into the wall. Basically, the same things that I said with the Pocket Tree picture apply here. You have an eye for composing the photograph well, but the white balance looks ...off sorta, in the backround. Its a technical detail here, though. Still looks very pretty.

OMG! I been there too! I really love the writings. I even put one myself. haha. I love the idea behind the photograph and the angle captured!

Haha, thanks so much!
I tried to put a writing on, but my Laoshi yelled at me so I stopped.

wow they don't mention that on the travel channel (lol), or maybe they do I just haven't seen it before. That is pretty neat that there are messages in the bricks.
