I don't think that I can do what does, but seeing her (old) painting technique was really interesting. cgcookie.com/tutorial/cerberus… Well worth the free trial haha. One of the best things about this series is that it’s the closest I can get to seeing how my drawing style mixes with the painting styles of some of my favorite artists.
Can any of you nerds tell me what kind of animal chespin was supposed to be? He kinda strikes me as "generic rodent."
It's a buckeye candy. Do those even exist outside of Ohio?

Nice painter-ly textured style, which I think is alot better to the overly clean style a lotta artists use when they digital paint .
I like how the style is a semi lineless style but you have lil lines to accentuate details B)
Would be interestng seeing you paint backgrounds !

since you requested critique.. I'd say try to make the colors/shading slightly more blend-y *if you're using SAI I tend to use the 'old water' tool* with more vibrant highlights/lighting. ie using a light yellow color on Chespin's head since yellow is higher up on hue than green and it adds a vibrant effect. same with the brown fur .
