I think I heard someone say that Cyndaquil was supposed to be a porcupine. Dunno what they were snortin. Always looked like an elephant shrew to me.Inspired by It's a tough way to paint, but I thought it was pretty.

I like the detail to Cyndaquil's front paws and hind paws. The nose, I feel like it would work better pointed, instead of pointing upward at the end of its long muzzle. The flames looked better with the yellow and didn't seem to have the dullness of the orange yellow within the flames.
The ear is all right, but I feel like it could be better rounded like an actually mouse's. I like the tuff of fur that Cyndaquil had in the original and I feel like you could have combined that with this new version.
Overall, the paws in this version are far superior than the original's, but the original had brighter flames with the yellow in them. The shading and lighting is impressive compared to the original. The detail to the saliva within Cyndaquil's mouth is enough to make me hungry, especially for marshmellows.
I think this version with a little taken from the original, namely the tuff and the brighter yellows within the flames could have made the newer version of Cyndaquil better.

okay i know its a Shrew
but it looks so much more like a Hedgehog than a Porcupine (though it mainly looks like a shrew)
and really cute :3

Oh gosh, that's amazing! I love the touch of the marshmallows. It looks so adorable! The flames don't seem quite as well done (doesn't quite feel like fire) but the overall body is definitely pretty good.
