So perhaps not the most creative title...But it is what it is I suppose
I took this picture this afternoon and I must say that galavanting upon a hill topless is quite exhilarating. I recommend it.
Upon returning home and reviewing my pictures, I realised how unfamiliar my own back is to me.
There are no delicate ribs or pretty ridges of the spine; my back is sturdier than I thought it would be.
I observed an unfamiliar spine, and back muscles which I didn't know I possessed. I noticed that my skin tone isn't totally even, there are patches of lighter and darker skin.
I never expected this personal reaction to my own back. How foreign it is to me, despite it having supported me for two decades.
My back, me. Though most of my pictures feature me, I feel like I am a character in them, there as a tool for the picture. This one feels like a self portrait. Strange, strange!

Interesting shot. Very subtle and natural feel. The posture of the pose conveys loneliness or sadness with me for some reason. Your comments bring a whole other dimension to an already beautiful picture...thanks for sharing them both. Great work.

It's so interesting to me reading what you write. And also your pictures of course! You seem to have a reflective, or should I say philosophical, point of view to life. Which I feel reflects in your pictures - as well as what you write in the descriptions. I'm not really sure how. But they seem very emotional in the simplest way. I find it very intriguing.
And I know what you mean about being more of a character than yourself when using yourself in your work. I feel the same way when I'm taking pictures of myself. It becomes sort of like unintended acting, accept it's not really acting, but rather me being emotional, whatever emotion that may be.

Backs and spines and some times rib cages, (especially those of women with the curves that bracket the back) make for good photography. I love the colours, the movement of your spine and all of this with such a wonderful backdrop. A private moment - and yet it's not!
