It's great that you can tell it's him (at least I could) without having to see his face, or read the title, or spot the Doctor Who insignia in the background. That is something to be proud of.
I really like how this is detailed for such a minimalistic-looking work (apologies if minimalism wasn't your intention).
The way the text is positioned makes sense, it is quite well-placed. However, I think it would be better if it were bigger, perhaps? Not overwhelmingly so, just enough to fill up the little bit of empty space.
Also, I think more layers of color would suit him better, but assuming you did mean this to look minimalistic, it might take away from the effect.
3.5 stars for originality because it feels like I've seen this type of artwork done before, but the text and the background help.
There is nothing I can say about the technique, everything seems well-done, the lines aren't jagged, which would have attracted a lot of attention.
A whole 4.5 stars for impact, because, as I've said, he is instantly recognizable, and, because of that, you could easily imagine him smile, always a good thing.

Thank you very much! I was going for a minimalist look but as this was literally my very first attempt at any sort of artwork, I had no idea where that line of too little/too much lay. I'm really glad that he was so instantly recognizable, that is exactly what I was hoping for. You are right, the general idea is not the most original. Similar minimalist art has been done for a wide range of topics.

You know, I really should. And the War Doctor. It's been a LONG time since I did any work on this... life and job and all. But maybe I will work on adding the missing 3 doctors, and maybe some companions as well. Maybe make a start on some villains.
