great technique.  love to hear more about how you got the look.  export lines and shadows separately from sketchup?  how did you get the sepia look etc.  badass design!

Yeah basically just picked the style I wanted in Sketchup, exported 2D images. Overlaid them in PS. Then from there I duplicate the layers, Gaussian blurring the underneath layers, multiplying the top layers (with a slight blur), then adjust the colour balance. Few other overlays of various textures, heavily utilising dodge/blur.

thx. great look! do you like the center seam?  you can "hide" the lines  whee the symmetrical sides meet inside the component if you want it to look continuous. keep the cool designs coming.

cheers

Heya, oh really? i'll investigate to see how. I usually just remove it manually in PS afterwards but would be good if I could just do something in SU and be able to skip having to do it afterwards

just highlight the line. right click and "hide".  if it is a mirrored component, that's it.  if not, do both sides.  cheers.

There better be a front vehicle study to go along with that- it's REALLY good looking!
