Vanitas and Aqua from Kingdom Hearts...and Terra.
I thought I'd do something more colorful and warmer in tone than the other drawings I've done recently.
And I also wanted to try drawing Vanitas looking less... evil. Hahaha! I was going for him being at a loss for words, or something to that effect. I'm still having a lot of difficulty expressing emotions accurately.
Originally, this was supposed to be a cover for a story I've decided not to write. This is the part where Aqua is just seconds away from finally telling Terra that, yes, she is ready to take their relationship to the next level; that she would love to be his girlfriend. Then Vanitas steps into the picture.

Terqua, from you, has a special place in my heart, because one of the first ways we bonded was through you doing that "The Stuffed Bunny II" that you kindly dedicated to me.
Plus, you're just so super good at them! So it makes me happy to see you sort of getting back into that land, even if it is in a small portion like this
(Also, I seem to only see MMD Terqua stuff anywhere, and all of those pics are lovely, but there's just something about traditional art that seems to have more soul to it. So I thank you very much for this.)
And I totally love the Vanaqua side of this pic, too! Don't get me wrong! As far as I'm concerned, you're the Vanaqua queen and this so doesn't disappoint. (Speaking of Vanaqua, did you ever see this cool video of Dani's? I think you'd adore it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DCf6X… ) I'd be really interesting in seeing you post this story, actually^_^
I really love the art style here, too! It looks like something bright and sunny you'd see at the beginning of a shoujo anime (and with a kick-ass song, like The Sword Art Online one, playing soon after it), before it's revealed that it's a lot more deep, epic, and dark than you might have initially thought. I don't know how to explain it exactly, but that's the feeling I get from this picture.

If I'm being honest, I also miss doing TerraAqua stuff, whether writing or drawing.
VanitasAqua is still my OTP but sometimes I find them overwhelming. Hahaha!
I checked out that video; it looks unfinished but I love it! Excellent song choice. Props to Dani!
