I liked this depiction of the Helico and always thought it felt more accurate to tie Eugeneodonts with chimera-body forms than lamnidae body forms.

Well, I'll be redrawing it with a more shark-like body, because its relative Fadenia has a full body fossil that shows eugeneodontids had more shark-like bodies, but were still closer to Chimaeras.

While Helicorpion was a stem-chimaera, eugeneodontids were convergently evolved with sharks.

Yes, I know. I got some feedback on it from Vitor Silva, there will be a new version coming later this week.

I hear people say that a lot. Is there any actual evidence (just curious)?

Tooth morphology indicates a diet of fast-moving prey

I really don't see how that proves its convergent body plan......

Another eugeneodontid, Fadenia has a full body fossil, showing a more shark-like body shape.

Name one animal that chases down fish and squid and lacks a torpedo-shaped body.

Thats not what I'm saying. I'm asking how we specifically know that it looks convergently like a shark. I'm not doubting you, I just want a reason

Full body fossils apparently do exist.

Glad to see a chimaera-like Helicoprion ! That changes from the classical shark reconstructions.

The body is too Chimaera-like, Eugeneodontids had more shark-like bodies than what I have depicted. I found that out after I had drawn this.

This is surely an unexpected reconstruction.
