I believe that Peter David brought in 1994 one of the richest levels in the long history of Aquaman! Replacing his left hand with a hook brought something really new to the hero that was once considered by many to be a big joke! It is my favorite phase of the king of the seven seas of DC (although in dispute with the phase New 52).
The idea of this cover was to bring the element of the hook as a highlight, putting the hero of this phase against an unusual group of villains who also had parts replaced by attack mechanisms. Grimm Reaper leads the Hookers (puns accepted!), a mercenary group willing to do anything for the right price! And who better to hire them than Fisherman himself - a somewhat overlooked Aquaman villain... I particularly enjoyed making this cover!
