Description
AS the title says, this is my attempt to convey what little, unprofessional advice I have on making a comic. I've taken everything I've read, observed, studied, or learned from other comics, tutorials and random stuff to form my own style in the medium of comics.. and you've chosen to read my process about it. You are odd... but thank you!Everything (c)

For those sketches, do you use regular A4 computer paper?
Do you ever have any issues scanning those when your drawings cover such a big area on the page?

No, I used Bristol paper. And Im fortunate to have a scanner with a large bed so size isn't usually a concern for me.
However, having a smaller scanner isn't the end of the world! If you scan your pages by section (for example you scan each corner of the page, so 4 complete scans) you can take those sections into photoshop and put them back together digitally! It takes a little more work and time, but it still gets the job done!

Thanks a lot for replying!
I've been so worried about that! Because i'm planning on starting my own comic and i was experimenting with so many diferente sizes, worried about how the drawing would turn out.

Wow! That is so much work, I admire your courage, to dare to do something like this with the time given.
I don't know if you are planning to create your own comic and I'm not an expert in comics but I think you are in a higher level than just OCT stuff...

I have no other way of doing comics besides just doing my usual style, is all
I do want to go pro though, so Alabaster is giving me an excuse to keep practicing!

Speed= a pace that will sometimes cause me to overlook things o-o anatomy, perspective, minor and major mistakes story and art wise... its taken a lot of time to get it down to balance, and even then it can screw me up! Thats all ^^

Wow, girl. You put WAAAAAY more effort into your comics than I do, and it definitely shows in the quality of your work. I just draw everything directly in the program and work from there. Wish I had a scanner, though, cause right now, if I have something drawn in pencil I just take a pic with my phone or camera.

You can get a cheap scanner/printer from any decent electronics store for around 30/40 bucks. My flatbed set me back a little more at around 100

This is very interesting when it matters to make a full colored comic.
I just started one.
The only fun fact is that I wouldn't use that process for an Oct.
As I see, your lineart alone is already very nice, a farly sufficient quality for an Oct.
Because of the lack of time, at this step, I would have just used the gradient tool to make speed-lines or color globaly the backrgound.
Actually, I wouldn't even have tried to get a so clear lining.

I'm not saying it's odd.
If you don't lack of time, you can do what you please.
Just that personally, I always have to be faster as usual, so I try to sacrifice realism in the sake of the vibes.
If you care, I'm quite inspired by :devblavklillian: who won "Law of Talos" to build up my Oct-Style.
Her rounds are a good example of what I mean.

Great guide, it was really interesting to see how you do things. I usually don't bother writing a script and do it all from memory. (Though i've been scripting lately since i've needed voice actors)

Yea, I used to do that too (did it for my audition actually). But with a greater number of pages and the speeches going on.. kinda hard to not use a script nowadays xD
Also, cheers for the comment!
