Description I had an idea on doing a set of pics similar to LCK where Mel would have some new outfit, and with every pic, she would have less and less, instead Mel likes to try out different outfits instead of featuring 1 for a set. so heres the first 1.Β

Dazstudio, Octane render, Dazplug-in, GIMP(PS)

It is such a beautiful image. Her skin looks so real, the hair is lively and its strands are fine. The only thing IMHO that made me think, I'm looking at a render, were sadly the clothes. As long as they can conform to the body, they're quite believable. There's just this one problem area: where the straps from the choker around her neck are continuing onto the breast area. They cling to the body. They are never stretched and straight. DAZ has clothes where this look works. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with bikinis or bras. But that is no slight against you, far from it. You've created a wonderful image. For the other point: let's annoy DAZ until they understand. I'll add it to my favorites.

cheers for the feedback, im always at a little cross roads when it comes to doing a render with clothes or not because most of the clothing doesn't look very real. but i dont really want to just do naked renders (regardless how stupid that sounds ) special combo (and a lot of money) of Octane and a shader made to make the skin look as real as possible, or so its promoted to be .Β

I know exactly what you mean.Β  That skin, though, is really really good. Until I saw that little clothing giveaway, I've really thought you've shot a photo. Unfortunately I'm operating on an AMD Processor with an ATI Graphics card, so Octane is out of the picture for now. But my next PC will have a Intel/NVidia base. For the clothes: the only real solution would be something like Marvelous Designer. If it weren't so complicated designing clothes that actually look good, or difficult to find some good patterns, I'd use that all the time. I even bought books about designing cloth, if you can believe that. It's a crazy journey...

regardless: Your image is hot and I thank you for sharing it with the world.

the quest for creating the perfect image is a long 1 lol, my own machine wasn't really intended for rendering pics, but the only thing you really need is an Nvidia GPU for octane to work, not sure about going Intel, as far as reviewers go, most support AMD over Intel, but im not exactly a computer wiz or have any idea on what components are best for render Β

and it's a quest that's probably never finished. Thing is: I had a AMD CPU and a NVidia GPU combined: Crashes - one after another. Could've been a bad batch or a general incompatibility, I don't know, but everything else was thoroughly tested. Including Driver rollback and such things. Since then, I'm a bit wary about combining these two strands. And when you look at those professionally offered workstations, they strangely enough always offer Intel/NVidia. Made me wonder at least.

That being said: I can't wait for your next image

Oh, just in case you'll use MD and have any questions: Don't hesitate to ask. What little knowledge I have shall be yours.

sure, when you look at my image "Emergency on Planet Boob" the nurses on the left and on the right have clothes made in "Marvelous Designer". Dial your model in at DAZ, pose it, export it via obj to MD, sow your clothes (yes, you read right), simulate (for gravity) export the model via obj back to DAZ (or any other program) and once your image is finished, hit render. It's completely independent from DAZ, don't need to make dynamic clothing or so (didn't try that out, wouldn't know if that would work - or how).

There are some tutorials on youtube, mostly about the technical stuff (exporting to and from - stuff like that) and some tutorials on their site. Sadly I've found very little in the way of tutorials about pattern making, which you'll need with MD - the company's first software was for clothing designers. Should you have patterns (or find a site which gives them away) please share.

If you overcome these hurdles, it's a great program for modeling and simulating clothes. They boast quite some clients and itΒ Β  i sΒ Β  good with clothes simulation (Single piece of cloth or layered doesn't matter much - as far as I've tried it out). Still, there will be a learning curve. As always with 3d.

Oh, before I forget: www.marvelousdesigner.com/

They are even quite cheap for a software company. Those 60 € per Month are a steal. Adobe is just as expensive.

I sincerely hope you'll like it.

i still think there are flaws to it, but the hardest critique is yourself, right?
