Many years have past, The legendary blue blur, Sonic The Hedgehog and his friends are long gone. Dr. Eggman has also passed, but his successor has now created a mass empire, that has slowly been spreading across the globe. But now, a new rag tag team of heroes have answered the call to fight the Egg Empire and defeat Prof. Robotnik.

Years passed, and Eggman was fully aware he wasn't getting any younger. Though he tried, he never found anyone worth taking as an apprentice, no one was ever smart enough. Then the doctor got an idea; If he couldn't find someon to inherit his knowledge and machines, he'd make one instead. So he began his experimentations, after a couple of years, Eggman succeeded and created a successor in his image. A synthetic human with an advance computer-like brain, that could grow and evolve. And his name was Ivan Eggman. Under Eggman's teachings and with his super brain, Ivan would learn all his mentor could teach him at a rapid pace, inventing great machines, while slowly growing cold and cruel-and a bit eccentric, much like his creator/father. Eventually, Ivan would betray Dr. Eggman and do away with him altogether. Once he became the worlds new threat, he decided that a new conqueror should have a new name. Searching his mental data, he recalled that his creator was once called Robotnik, finding it more fitting, he took it as his own last name.
With his superior mind, he lead Eggmans forces and began his conquest. Under Prof. Robotniks leadership, the machines began to take over verious areas around the world, creating the Egg Empire, that his creator had dreamed of.
This would get the attention of Sonic and his friends, and they would try to stop him. But unfortunately, Ivan was able to not only counter Sonic's plans but would eventually defeat the blue blur and his friends.
And so, with no further heroes to distract him, he would fulfill the primary function Dr. Eggman programmed into him: Conquer the world.
