Given how the comic aped the Superman marriage issue of the 1990's with guest artists working on the issue, it seems a pity it's apparently the midway point of a story revolving around the scheming of -deleted- .Maybe the actual wedding will buck everyones expectations by being a big public church affair ( with Bruce Wayne's reporter friend Clark Kent as best man, and Selina Kyles therapist friend Harley and her companion Pamela as bridesmaids ) with some light hearted humour in a special 48 page self contained wedding story issue. Well a person can dream can't they ?
Anyhow i'm using this as an excuse to draw Selina

Batman #50 epitomizes the main problem with Batman: the readers have changed but Bruce Wayne has not. His marriage to Selina would've signified that he doesn't need to be miserable to be Batman. That's character development. But nope, he goes back to square one because status quo is God.Β

No excuse needed to draw Selina. There can never be too much Selina fanart! The no marriage was so disappointing but I can't wait for their reunion. I love angsty reunions. But if they don't end up married then they are gonna lose tons of fans and deserve it. But anyways, great work on this!

In hindsight the clues were there. Batman is far too meticulous to not have a prenup. No effort was made to somehow forgive /pardon (again) Catwoman's past. A bit surprised they revealed some ID/Secrets such as Clark's super secret.

Still can't help feeling we're now owed a classic story. I'll also be disappointed if we don't see some consequences. Batman has LOTS of super powered friends who can easily find Selina. After all Alfred did without apparent effort. On Batman's side - woe to be a criminal as he takes out some frustrations and disappointment.
As for the "big" revelation - meh. Nice to see that the "big bad" can play head games as well as just flex his pects. But not exactly a big deal. I can see Batman relieving his frustration on assorted thugs, especially when he learns who engineered this little head game. Bat villains have a bad habit of not keeping their big yap shut for very long.

I might be persuaded to forgive theΒ R------y Bride plot, IF they show some stories that show a reasonable aftermath. Batman may deny it but he has a fair number of friends. We should see them trying to help him deal with the issue. Even Gordan should be involved here. On the female side, there are several heroines who know both parties. It would be interesting to see their perspective on how they deal with each of the involved. As I mentioned in a different comment, Catwoman's new location was apparently not as hard to find as she thought. While the Bat may not want to see her, those other parties may have a different opinion.

Honestly such a disappointment.Just a drawn out tease to hype up fans for a fall because of some ridiculous reason that Batman must be miserable.And wtf with -deleted-'s plan?Is this for real?Is staged heartbreak now a superhero deathtrap?

I would have seen it as more some other characters twist of the knife or demonstrating that they knew the two better than they knew themselves. It would have been nice to see more development leading to the ** sorry spoilers **.

It seemed oddly petty of -deleted- to me, and a little jarring that he would associated with someone as unpredictable as the Joker, but probably inkeeping with the writers own take on the character.
