So here's my contest entry for fauxlens.deviantart.com/journa… . I've drawn a single state novelty fakemon that's almost to not really based on a real-life margay, but because the fakemon was allotted to me via lottery here goes.

I read thru what a margay is (thinking its some kind of bird) to be presented with a mammal. And a cat. So here is Marguee, the Cat Fakemon. It lives high above the jungle tree with nests between tree branches or within tree holes. What's amazing for Marquee is that it has extremely short limbs (a little play on the actual Margay). This is to make it into a psychic type with Levitate as an ability (as it is mostly associated with psychic types in pokemon). But why psychic? While working on photoshop, I realized that you make a marquee to move objects from one place to another. It seems like telekinesis in real world, Thus Psychic. Margay, Marquee, Margay, Marquee...sounds alike. Thus the name Marguee. As an added bonus, I made its tail resemble a hand-shape similar to an Aipom hand-tail, with the same background=to acts as a third limb while climbing. Amplify is a sound-based fake ability I made and have given to quite a few fakes I've made and concepted. This is reference to the margay's ability of auditory mimicry, although not the same, they're still sound based, right? The coat is a show of spots coz basically a Marguee has tawny brown fur beneath its coat (Although it should have played withht concepted evolution).

So that's the not-so-brief explanation why this fakemon is such: Cat/Margay, Psychic, Levitate, Amplify.
