do you use brushes to cover the large black parts too? by the way, is it me or is your scanner a bit dirty?

I guess it's not the scanner. If you look at her right cheek, you'll notice that there's a bit of a face there. A nose, a mouth... That smudge you see is actually the contour of another face.
Maybe it was in the back of the paper, or on another piece of paper behind this one.

Pitt pens are what Adam uses on his con sketches; for most of his cover art Adam inks with brushes.

done with ink and brush; Adam mostly uses his markers on his convention sketches, with only the occasional cover art getting that unusual treatment.
