Your catwoman has always, always been a favorite of mine! It's prolly the best catwoman rendition out there! <3

It's really cool to see a WIP with your marker work~ It really looks just as great up close as it does at a distance.

I didn't know COPICs bleed that much on Strathomore's Drawing paper. I though it was just the Prismacolors.

okay, Seriously, I've found myself all @_@ over this image and this one: [link] for DAYS now. I've yanked my copics out from the boxes they've been in since i moved and i'm totally trying to figure this out!
I've got basic old PS v8, not even a CS really. I'm on a PC as well, and i'm not awesomely computer literate, i'm better then a decently computer friendly parent(age 50+) but i'm sure a 5 year old could run computer circles around me.
So I understand you use pencils to get the basic lines down... the pose, I get that you line it after that, but not horribly detailed b/c you do some of that with your copics, you then erase a great deal or more of the pencil itself, and in finishing PS or SAI.
I can even tell that in the colored skin tone version that you still use more or less you original Copic monochromatic shading.
What i don't get is HOW you go from the scanned Monochromatic to the skin flesh tones. Is it an overlay? or are you using a layer marked as Hue? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I really would love to figure this out, though if it's an AH! trademark you dont want to sure that's cool too, though i have to admit i really want to know and i hope to figure it out even without help :3

wait- i'm confused. Do the pencil lines dissolve when you color it? or do you erase the pencil lines first, before you color it?
or is it..
you ink it first then erase (the pencil lines) then color it. or you ink then erase ( with some pencil lines still there ) then color, ( and then the pencil dissolves )
and by pencil lines dissolving, i mean it mixes with the colors ( making it unnoticeable )
--
sorry about that.. OTL
i am confused. @ n @

I erase the pencil lines before coloring, which is pretty standard practice.

Been practicing with COPICs because of you. I love the way they blend! Once you have it down it is so addictive. XD

Not to bug ya or anything, but i gotta ask u a question.
i just started airbrushing (with a real airbrush ) and i was wondering if it was feasible to ink pencil work like this then airbrush the colors on lightly to color it to help with da process?

It's extremely feasible; many artists work that way.
But it's not easy (at least, until you work the bugs out).
You have to use transparent inks of you are spraying over inked artwork and don't want to cover the inked areas with the paint.

Do u hav any suggestions on da brands or kinds of airbrush colors I should use?

AdamHughes In reply to amorousdino [2011-02-03 15:25:53 +0000 UTC]
THAT, I do not know. It's been over 15 years since I used an airbrush to color any art. I used to use Holbein colors; they're a Japanese company but almost any art store carries them. I have no idea of they still make good paint, though.

Then its time to get reacquainted with that old flame, za airbrush
lol
Thx for the advice, Holbein, that's da brand i'll b lookin for this weekend (if the art store ain't closed for Chinese New Year)
Anywho, when will this little Selina piece b on ImagineFX?
