Description
The nineties sucked, right? Hear it all the time, mostly about the comics of that decade, but also movies, cartoons and so forth, especially when compared with the eighties. Well, I love the eighties too, but I'm a child of the nineties. Turned 12 in 1990; read my first comic in the 90's, started making art in the 90's, decided i wanted to be an *artist* in the 90's, etc. And it didn't suck; it was fantastic. A lot of the works from that decade were revelations for me, hitting with the kind of impact that you can really only experience as a young person. So here it is, my little tribute to some of the awesomeness of the decade of my youth. Enjoy, and if you are also a nineties child, say it with pride (we were the generation that first read Understanding Comics, for pete's sake!)I uploaded a pretty big file, feel free to do whatever with it, but remember that none of these copyrights belong to me (so don't slap it on a tee shirt of something.)

The nineties were awesome. Thank god I am not 2010s kids, because they spend time on their cell phones, playing games on iPad, they whiny too much sometimes, listen to crappy music such as Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj ,and etc.,
Β and watch awful shows such as garbage cartoons on Cartoon Network, trash reality shows ( ex; The Bachelor, Survivor, and other.), crappy sitcoms on Disney and Nickelodeon, and too much advertisment on TV.Β
Β Β Β I am 1990s kids and 2000s kids, man these shows like Johnny Bravo, Ed Edd n Eddy, Cow and Chicken, Spongebob (1999-2005), Rocko's Modern Life, Totally Spies!, awesome DC and Marvel shows such as Batman Animated Series, X-Men Evolution, Brandy and Mr. Whiskers, Timon and Pumbaa, Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles, Phineas and Ferb, Kim Possible, Ben 10 (the originial series), Total Drama Island, 6teen, Emperor's New School, Smurfs, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, Yogi Bear, The Simpsons, Futurama, South Park, Pokemon, Mickey Mouse and his friends, Looney Tunes, and other were awesome.
Β Β Β Β Β
Β Β Β Β Β I WISH THE NINETIES WERE NEVER ENDED AND FREEZE TIME AT DECEMBER 31, 1999 FOREVER !!!!!!Β Β 2020s WILL BE SECOND 1990s and THIRD 1960s.

Hey Dave,
Unfortunately, there are a few characters in this piece who I don't own the copyright to. Β I don't sell licensed prints; some people get away with it, but the law is against us.Β

I haven't run into that many people who say that the 90's sucked (I see a lot more people say that cartoons past the 90's suck), but I'd have to say that I like the 90's since there were quite a few shows from then that I still remember fondly now.
Also, this may be a minor thing, but I like the inclusion of SpongeBob here. So many self-proclaimed 90's fanbrats who whine about today's cartoons and use SpongeBob as an example of that seem to forget that SpongeBob started in 1999.

Very well done! Great job with the poses, but poor Harley way in the back there seems a bit... disproportionate to the rest of the crowd (I do understand you went for the whole diminishing perspective thing). Awesome job though.

Well I won't say it's the best decade, everyone has theirs. But certainly the most memorable, including to me since yeah most of my childhood was in that era. Especially cartoon-wise, before cable sapped it away, cartoons had blocks, played morning and noon and Saturdays (occasionally Sundays) and...how can I describe it. It was indeed magical that I wanted to join in too when I was little. Inspired my own artistry. Alas those days have gone by the nostalgia wayside. But it's fun looking back every once in awhile.Β
Great job.

i was born in 92 , making me a late commer in the 90s but still , the best era. Everything seemed so innocent back then. Disney was making movies where the whole family saw and everyone in the family was touched...The toons and comics were all so awesome , it felt like the artists were creating them just for the shake of creation , not to make money out of them but just cause it was fucking awesome! And the music...dayum..so many originals tracks and bands back then , so much creativity. And the video games where fucking awesome. Back then people didnt have all the modern awesome hardware and software to create life-looking-graphics so the story of a game actually did count! I will never forget when i first played tekken 3.. back then i thought it had the best possible graphics that can ever be haha. Compared to the 90's i feel that our current age is a plastic world.

Good work, but some notes:
*Although SpongeBob was airing at first in the end of the 90's, don't forget its popularity was began in the 2000's. Anyway, I don't believe you added him instead of Rocko[-Rocko's Modern Life!]! ><
*There were more good things in the 90's: Animaniacs, Ahh!!! Real Monsters, Courage - The Cowardly Dog [Stupid dog!], Tiny Toon, Hey Aronld, Rugrats [Nothing in the 90's isn't complete without them!], Doug, F.R.I.EN.D.S, Seinfeld, Rocko of course, Hercules, The Lion King and Aladdin Disney movies, Dexter's Laboratory, Gargoyles, The Mask, Batman Beyond and I'm sure there are a lot of shows...
*As a 90's girl (I was born in 1990), me too miss them. I am not jealous at kids nowadays. Now, except animes and Avatar (The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra), the animated shows went downhill (And if you're asking me - it's SpongeBob's fault). Not to mention about the music, style, games we have then, although the internet sucked.

I like the 90's and all, the internet was shit. 20's looked like the world was going to forces on making what the 90's started with robots. Then 9/11 had to fuck everything up.
Also, I hate that people think that 90's were some amazing time. There was tons of shit to like Columbine High School massacre, AIDS, and tons of old fucker trying to ban anything.

Every decade has its gems! I see a lot of my old favorites in this. Darkwing Duck! Batman: The Animated Series! The Legend of Zelda! (When did Link to the Past come out?) But I gotta ask: what about the Animaniacs? (Yes, Pinky & the Brain were in it, but they also had a spin-off of their own - and I'm partial to the Warners, m'self. )

What? Nooooo! 90s rock big time!
The only things that sucked in the 90s are people who dressed up like refugees of the 80s... comics, well Liefeld's pouches and feet
But cartoons rocked, The Tick, Mighty Max, Earthworm Jim, Biker Mice and everyone else in this pic... fantastic tribute piece!
