You are so kind. It is getting quite a lot of attention at the moment. I'm pleased that I saw your white peacock for it reminded me of mine, way back in my gallery. It never really caught many eyes when I first showed him there.

woah, peacocks are beautoful, especially with this tail fanned out...
I've seen one of these, we have a bird scntuary thing here in Norway where there are a lot of birds, including some peacocks.
I thought only the females were white though?
Hrm.

anyway, veyr well captured ^-^

Thank you for your lovely comment. I didn't know that white peacock's existed until I saw this one. I didn't think that peahens had a display of feathers like this, so that is why I'm assuming this is a male.

Kulingile In reply to AdamsWife [2006-04-01 15:51:34 +0000 UTC]

Your welcome.

and I saw a peahen fanning out her tail, but the peahens tail is much much smaller than this of the peacocks.
I dont know why she fanned out her tail at all, though, but she did.

The one in the photo is male though^^

The males are often much prettier than the females all through the bird species.

Yes yes.
The males are showoffs though, but then again, so are a lot of animals xD

This is gorgeous!!!! I have some photos of peacocks but none of them is alike this one.

...Rod Stewart isn't sexy, btw...

Thank you. I did look at one of your peacocks and I have one almost exactly the same, however, it isn't yet my gallery.

And I have to agree, I don't find Rod Stewart sexy either, but he must have something going for him. I shall be cynical and suggest it's the money and the fame.

Thank you so much for adding this to your favourites, I appreciate your visiting my gallery.
The white peacock was in a sort of animal sanctuary and isn't a native of Australia.

It was very lovely, I was on webworms site, and was just introduced to her gallery recently, and she had a list of people to watch, and yours was one of them!! I did enjoy it very much! Thank you for sharing!

I've had quite a few people drop by since webworm started putting me in her journal. It is so very nice of her to do that.

I read that White peacocks make up less than one percent of the world peacock population, so we are fortunate to have these in Western Australia.

Gorgeous image. but lacks a little sharpness needed in that kind of pic, I think

I see you resized your pics. I always wanted to tell you but I got used to do it in the upper bar and usually forgot.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AdamsWife In reply to tirol [2005-07-04 20:42:01 +0000 UTC]

I am slowly going through the whole lot and resizing them. Perhaps more people will look at them and comment if they don't have to scroll up and down and side to side.

I didn't realise that others could tell what I was doing. So does everyone who is 'watching' me get the message that a picture has been altered in any way.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

tirol In reply to AdamsWife [2005-07-05 20:16:54 +0000 UTC]

Resizing is a good thing I used to make the pic smaller by bringing it in the upper bar of my page but it's not everybody that know the trick. A freind showed to me.

As for altering the pics, everybody I know do it and it's normal. When I used to make paper prints I used to alter them a lot, by the use of chemicals, paper grades, and other manip. I do the same when the pic is in my computer.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AdamsWife In reply to tirol [2005-07-05 20:27:51 +0000 UTC]

Yes I did a lot of manipulating in the dark room too, but these days, there seems to be a lot of people on DV who don't like to see manipulation of any kind, especially with Photoshop.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

tirol In reply to AdamsWife [2005-07-05 20:37:25 +0000 UTC]

90% of the pics are manipulated.

Levels, Curves, brightness/contrast are not manips they are corrections.

Let say you have a very nice composition of a subject you'll never see again but you took it so fast it's over-exposed You delete it ??????

I dont !!!!

Photo manip is when you change a pic to an extend that it doesnt look "normal" anymore. IF you do that (and I do it sometimes) you submit it in the photomanipulation category and everybody is happy.
