WOW, very nice! Was this in DS or Poser? If Kruser's grass kit works in DS I'm sold!

This was done, as 99% of my renders are, in DS3 Advanced 64-bit.

I turned off occlusion and raytracing on the grass by applying the UberHair shader too them so that it would render faster.

Amazing work! I love your crowded scenes, I still have to figure out a good way to put things together in separated files and then merge them. I just have to find the time to sit down and figure it out.

Hehe, I do it all at once so I don't have to figure that out! (But if you're a DAZ Studio user, take a look at the Surface Mask Creator plugin. It creates black/white renders based on objects and/or surfaces that are easy to use for masks in photoshop / gimp.)

Great to see more than just one character in a scene. It really gives some weight to the battle scene. Inspiring Adam.

Outstanding! And yes, the grass looks even better than before...

Seriously though, the plants are fantastic and well laid out. Very cool.

Me too! It's hard to use, but it's worth it! I love the results. Add in some dodge and burn (which I didn't this time) and it really looks spectacular.

I've never gotten grass to turn out like that...
but, you use a lot of postwork on yours?

AdamTLS In reply to chellethecat [2009-08-30 19:34:16 +0000 UTC]

Nope, there's NO postwork on the grass in that image. That is true 3D Mesh grass, not textured/bumpmapped grass. That's why it looks so good (imo). In the previous render I used this object in I did some dodge/burn in PS to help create more variations in coloration, but I didn't do it here.

Looky here > [link] < for the Grass-Pack01 obj. Made for Poser, but works great in DS too.

Aah, wow that's a great kit then!
Thanks for the link.
Most of the grass I've seen didn't look near this good.
