Description Spotted Alien OVerlay Presets for Victoria 4.

Requires:
Victoria 4
DAZ Studio 2.x or higher.

These products utilize the DAZ Studio Multi-layered Image Editor technology though the MLIE is not required to use them. The MLIE process requires a fairly hefty overhead to load the second layer of textures. You may experience a noticeable pause after double clicking the preset before they appear. This is normal. Cycling through the presets will consume LOTS of RAM. Be careful.

Poser not supported, but if you know how to attach alpha-transparent PNGs to material nodes you should be able to use the textures themselves.

These overlays are copyright by me! Do not distribute. They may be found legitimately at:

I am curious about how well these would work with the Genesis figures, I'm assuming they'd work better with the right V4 to GenesisX converter, but I'm wondering how well they'd work without it. Any idea?

Should mainly be misaligned seams for G1- G3.Β  I can tell you for sure that there's a gab on the leg seams for the Genesis 1 default UV.Β  They won't apply directly at all to Gen2 and newer figures as those figures require the DUF format and the presets are all .dsa

I only vaguely know what that means after eleven years of working with DAZ - LOL - but as I mentioned elsewhere I might have a work-around using the transparencies converted to .jpgs to alter the Diffuse Strength node. it's a manual fix and a slight pain, but it might work I hope.

Instead of doing it with Diffuse, do it with the Layered Image Editor.

With your figure selected on the scene tab, open up the surfaces tab, select the appropriate skin surface (just like you're doing for Diffuse), and then on the main diffuse (texture) channel, click on the texture image and instead of selecting browse, select Layered Image Editor. This will allow you to overlay the presets, scale/align them, even change how the interact with the texture itself.Β

Explore some from there.Β  LIE is fun (Layered Image Editor) and it's how the original presets were made.

Can you give me a bit more info, I'm playing with it but I haven't figured out how to do anything more than replace one skin with another. I was using the "Add Layer" and "Additive Blend" I think they are called, is that right? I was specifically trying to combine the G2 TigerLilly texture and the Zahara texture to create a darker skinned texture. www.daz3d.com/tigerlily Β  www.daz3d.com/zahara-for-belle…

can the overlays literally be used in photoshop to overlay on a preexisting V4 texture to use in Poser?

Sure, as long as you scale them to match your V4 texture.

what format are they in? png, jpg, psd (for layering in photoshop or other similar app)?

They are PNGs with transparency. Β You'll find them in the Runtime/Textures/AMR/PatternOverlays/ folder in the zip file.

They are great using them in poser though I just edited the skin I was using to sport these awesome spots. Thanks lots I was about to cry and start drawing them but with my stressed time budget you are a real life saver!
