Inspired in part by Alex Ross' kicking designs for some of these characters, and my general love for a few of them, this started as a little doodle and turned into a pretty nice drawing. From the top, we've got Bizarro, Black Manta (a bit of a redisign of my own - trying to do something cool with the mask), Gorilla Grodd, Sinestro, Cheetah, Joker, Braniac, and Lex Luthor.Related content

You make the villains look so cool.
It is said that a the Hero is made greater by the Villians that he/she defeats. This is the best rouge gallery I have seen in a long time.

What I question is the logic of having Bizarro on the LoD.
Bizarro is supposed to be a nuisance,not a menace.
Besides,I read that the reason the Joker wasn't in the original LoD was because he was appearing on Filmation's Batman cartoon

Great picture, very moody and sinister.
But I must point out that Joker was never a member of the Legion of Doom. That was the reason why Joker bombed their circular cities: He was angry they didn't let him join, but they did the Riddler and Scarecrow.
The 13 villains that form the Legion are: Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Bizarro, Toyman, Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd, Black Manta, Giganta, Cheeta, Sinistro, Riddler, Scarecrow, and Solomon Grundy.

I just grabbed villains I felt like drawing, and since most were part of the old Super Friends LoD, that's what I called the piece. Joker notwithstanding. Not a geek thing, just an easy title for a doodle I had.

A little of all of them, really. I just grabbed some characters I wanted to draw, chose the costumes I liked best for a moody, dark piece, and in some cases I made up new ones. Brainiac's outfit and Black Manta's helmet are all me.

Yeah, any time I see Joker on a team of supervillains, it's a deal-breaker for me. At least in the 'Justice' miniseries, he was a wild-card who snuck into the equation to cause chaos. With them plugging him into the new Injustice League... well, it just doesn't make any sense. He's either a vicious psychopath worthy of fear and terror who happens to have a clown motif - or he's just a stupid clown playing at being a super-villain. You can't have it both ways, DC!

Indeed... I tend to favor him on his own. Luthor can play leader-villian and Superman enemy, he fits both modes well. Joker's focus should be Batman.
