Description
Another one of the hummingbirds in the aviary at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Apparently it only takes 3 weeks for the eggs to hatch and the male doesn't do anything during that time. All materials in this gallery may not be reproduced, copied, edited, published, transmitted, or uploaded in any way without my written permission.

It is, yes! It always amazes me how much effort is put into bird nests. These guys make their nests largely out of spider webs. The caretakers were saying that after they created the enclosures for the hummingbirds they weren't breeding because they had cleaned out all the spiders. They actually had to re-introduce the spiders so the hummingbirds could make their nests.
Thank you for the compliment!
