Its name is a combination of ‘Devon’, as in the corporation as well as the Devonian geologic period; ‘oni’, the Japanese word for demon; and ‘ASCII’, to suggest the technologic theme of the evolutionary line. This is intended to be an artificial Pokémon developed by the Devon Corporation and a competitor to the Porygon line. It shares its base stat total with Porygon-Z, but the allocation is different.
