Description
Chirin and Unico were two characters that starred in films made by Sanrio in the 1970's and 1980's.A brief rundown of the protagonists:
Chirin's carefree life in the farm and meadow ends when his mother gets killed by a wolf; he seeks said wolf, learns to fight under wolf's tutelage, kills his mentor during a planned attack on his previous farm herd, and is banished to his new home in the snowy mountains by his original flock.
Unico: a transient child unicorn with the gift of spreading joy, is deemed a threat by gods and is sentenced by them to die, though the West Wind takes pity on him and spirits him away to remote areas, changing locations whenever Unico meets the populace and changes their lives and spirits for the better.
I wanted to call it "You Must Believe In Spring" because I've probably listened to that Bill Evans tune two dozen times working on this, but it had no bearing on the subject matter. I also added a Pom because why not.
Chirin is a character by Takashi Yanase, better known as the creator of Anpanman.
Unico is by Osamu Tezuka, famous for creating Astro Boy.
Pom and her puppy is from Them's Fightin' Herds, an indie game by dev group Mane6.
