History:

Ever since he was small, to Damian music and the sea was his life, as soon as he was old enough he began to learn how to surf from his father and how to play the drums from his older brother who was already a music instructor. His passions for the instrument and sport only grew more and more the older he got, by the time he was a rebellious trouble making sixteen year old he was in a garage band playing the drums with his friends, and he was competing professionally in surfing competitions.
At the time Damian was cocky, careless, and as some would call him an adrenaline junky. One day he and his best friend, a friend since he's had since childhood, went to the beach early in the morning to go grab some waves before the beach became too crowded...Both were so caught up in the ideas of catching a perfect wave that they hadn't noticed a sign placed out on the beach that mourning by the life guard who worked the morning shift.
Shark warning.
Carelessly Damian and his friend Donald leaped into the water with their boards and swam out into deeper waters to wait for the waves to come.
The two companions had managed to catch a few good waves after a good few hours of fun together, Damian saw a great wave at some point and was eager to catch it, but it was a little deeper out in the water.
Without a second thought however he swam for it even when Donald had yelled after him not to go out too deep. Not listening to his friend’s warnings he swam and swam until he had finally caught the wave. Exhilarated Damian tried pulling off some trick moves; however he misjudged how much speed he needed in order to pull it off.
Wiping out Damian fell into the deep seawater, he managed to get to the surface but as he was having fun on the wave he had not heard his friends fearful and terrified screaming.
What was screaming was 'shark!'
Shark, shark, shark.
Feverishly Damian tried to get to his board and swim back to shore, however the shark that had been swimming in the water was faster then he could swim.
Shrieking in pain Damian felt jaws clamp on his lower torso on his right side, pain raked his body as he began to struggle in the shark’s jaws, attempting to get free. As he fought against the shark Damian remembered from his father that punching at the sharks nose was the best way to make it let go of you.
So as one of his last ditch efforts he began to smack and pound at the sharks snout, it took a few misplaced and frantic blows before finally he felt the jagged teeth leave his flesh.
By now the water was red with his blood and the salt stung in the fresh wound, it was a struggle to move but Damian managed to get to his board and somewhat hang onto it.
After the first bite and after he managed to get on the board Damian couldn't remember much of anything else, by the time he woke up again he was disorientated and in the hospital.
His family and best friend were at his bed side when he awoke, it was at that time did Damian was told that during the attack his arm had been bitten off.
Devastated Damian fell into a state of depression for some time, his cocky boisterous self subdued to a more quiet and insecure young man.
At the time of his accident he was only eighteen.
It took many years of physical rehabilitation was Damian able to use a prosthetic arm, and as he grew older and more used to his stub did he begin to get a better about how he felt about himself, so he began to act more confident about himself.
Damian still had his music and that's what steadily helped him become better, he's still currently trying to learn how to play the drums again.
Still he has yet to try surfing again.
