Description

So I had another au idea!
When I was talking to a friend on discord, I told him how the way I drew Papyrus’s eyes, they kinda looked like zippers.
I also compared the film “coraline” to my idea, which sparked something else
they advised me to draw papyrus with zipper eyes, and this happened!
So, with the help of @dreemurr-skelememer , I came up with a few things, one of them being the AU name, ZipperTale.
(I was also thinking “Zipped Up,” but they said zippertale was good)
So, the zipper mechanic is basically like a religious thing within the underground. The zippers are basically a way of cleansing yourself from corruption and impurities. When you open the zippers, you let in spirits of purity to eliminate corruption within you. So, Papyrus and Sans got these zipper implants. Papyrus tries his best to get you, the human, these zipper implants, because he fears the human would be corrupted. Of course, the human can’t have the implants, because e they don’t have a hallow head like skeletons do. It would kill them, basically. Sans doesn’t care much, though he does root for Papyrus.
As for the character designs, Papyrus’s current design is simple; Only zippers for eyes.
Sans’s design, however, is a bit more complex. His eyes are zipped shut, instead of being open like the usual Sans. His mouth is also zipped shut, with it being another way for corruption to get in easy, before. Though, Sans is a little insecure about how he looks, especially on the mouth, so he wears a bandanna to cover up his mouth. Sans also uses sign language to communicate, due to the zipped up mouth.
How do they see with their eyes zipped? Well, they use a magic form of echo location, so they kind of “feel” everything. It’s like vision, but just not with eyes. They can still see, though, they just need to unzip the sockets.
Though, this causes a rather intimidating factor not only for Sans, but mostly Papyrus as well. Imagine Papyrus unzipping his eyes, so his eyes are wide open, looking like big, gaping holes while he has his usual grin.
Something also notable about Sans, is that when you meet him in the final corridor durring genocide, he will talk about how Papyrus was right, and when you go without zippers, you grow corrupt. So, he opens his eye zippers, and his glowing eye is extremely bright due to little to no exposure to the outside.
This is the general idea, so the designs may be improved upon.
