A commission from 2006, done for ~akai-no-akuma , featuring her mer-character Ahura thinking about his human friend Neri. Merfolk are a lot of fun to draw! I haven't done an underwater scene in a while, it was a nice change of pace. I like the bubbles. ^__^Characters Β©~akai-no-akuma

two fav things about this: using just blue/blue green and the dark edges makes it seem so intimate, and the way the merman extends past the background is awesome! reminds me of Amy Brown's watercolor fairies ^.^

Neri is a human girl, as far as I know. But this is from back in 2006, so I really have no idea. I don't remember commission descriptions from that long ago. ^__^;;
