This image is distinguishingly striking. It hits you like a thump from behind. Even when you see the preview of the image, it doesn't fully take you into it's true vision. It's very ethereal in a sense, but not to where it terrorizes. Very well done. The eyes(sockets) are a good bit larger than normal, but not too large to where it offers distraction. Instead, it sinks the viewer in far deeper towards the possible fears and/or intriguing thoughts that they could have in their mind. It's wonderfully haunting and, surely, can inspire writers. With the hood on and the horns resting behind the head, this dark spirit can definitely hold it's own against other ramming hard-headed spirits in league with darkness.

I love this painting for a number of reasons, the textures are well thought out with a nice painterly feel and the general form is very well executed. The color tones are muted by effected with the hint of red underpainting. The issues I would say I have with it are it is alittle too muted and muddy, I understand there is suppose to be a feeling of smoke and fog but the form seems somewhat lost in it to the point it becomes too flat. I have loved your otherworks for their impact, texture and composition this one seems a but understated. The specularity of it could use a boost you have that lovely above lighting that gives it a nice impact but the shoulders receive little to none of it. Implied lighting around the form might give this more pop and impact. Also the dark form behind the head does not give much to it if anything it confuses the lighting. There just isnt enough information to justify it. The face is awesome with a lovely sheen and wet look to it but the line work for the form seems lacking definition. I think with a little light balancing and a few more strokes for form definition it could be even more amazing. As always though I bow to your skill Bravo!
