I am using XNA Lara 11

The Specular version works perfectly, but the Enviroment version doesn´t show her trousers and gloves, see:

Could you please look into it?

Adngel In reply to gerkhan123 [2017-10-08 09:57:40 +0000 UTC]

That´s is a problem of hardware, maybe because your drivers are not updated or the graphic card hasn´t got the enhacement required (a lot of office computers may happens this as they are prepared for offimatic, not videogames).

The Enviroment version include a specific refelctive shader in those parts that are hided. And surelly it will happens you with more models that also uses similar shader.  (From my gallery, I´ve got a lot of weapons that uses it, and some monsters as well), in such case, you can try go to "Options -> Display texture" and uncheck "Metallic Maps", the reflection effect should go and it should looks like as a simple specular map. Maybe that works for you when you have problems like that one.

for a model with game bones the lower spine and pelvis rig is not very good. the visual part of this update is very good though, just the rig could use some touch ups.

Adngel In reply to DrXPS [2014-07-24 09:03:26 +0000 UTC]

I used the Mariokart script, that is good for the face rigging, but it generates some mistakes on bodies, specially on the spine, that was what happened with the Chinese version, this spy one I fixed a couple of things when I tested it, but I can believe there were more mistakes yet that I didn't discovered. I'll take it a look this evening.

Hmm...I DL'd the updated versions (both Spec and Env) and there's this thing with Ada's hair: fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/f/201… Is this a problem on my end?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Adngel In reply to CommanderDavis [2014-07-21 00:36:12 +0000 UTC]

Hello Commander Davis.

That's happens because the hair has two faces (the outside and the inside), in theory, when loads the model, it should config XPs automatically to solve that problem, but if it doesn't, you can use 2 methods to solve it.

1º- On the top bar of XPS, you can find the tab "Option" and inside of it, you have to activate two options:
-> Back-face culling
-> Always force culling

That will make that the scene don't renderize the douber faces anymore, so those squares won't appears on your picture.

2º- If for any reason, you couldn't activate those options, then you can press Ctrl+A and hide the HairIN piece, so there won't be that clipping anymore (however the sleeve, yes could continue presenting clipping, so it's prefered the previous method).

Ada is the best character in the series, love her! Can you do a nude model?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Adngel In reply to Cash4488 [2013-08-26 21:41:13 +0000 UTC]

At the moment I have other preferencies, but is you need a nude Ada, you can use:
- The Pinkie Pie version pinkie-pie297.deviantart.com/a…
- Or the Couture version: ms-couture.deviantart.com/art/…

In my prox ports, the nude Ada model that performs on the begining of her campaign, is almost ready to upload (I just need test and make images), but it's not such detailled, it's interesting for modding for the sizes but for explicit erotic pics. It may be a bit... "uncompleted".  However the said, I want focus on other unfinished mods that I have overe there too O.ò

This Sheva? [link]

But it's fine O.ò, I load her on XPS and automatically, the Back-Face Culling option is activated, so black squares on her skirt doesn't appear.

How are the bugs which you are experiencing?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Adngel In reply to anorexianevrosa [2013-06-25 16:47:45 +0000 UTC]

On the control window of the XPS, go to:
Options-> Bake-face culling
and
Option -> Always force face-culling

Playing with those 2 options, you can play a bit with that issue of the back faces.

With XPS models, it's tried that they activated this options automatically, but sometimes, if the user has alrady activate/desactivated them, that call of the model won't work, so it must need do it manually.

anorexianevrosa In reply to Adngel [2013-06-25 17:31:13 +0000 UTC]

no, i can't explain it properly... can you make something to model to has the same results without activating backfaces?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Adngel In reply to anorexianevrosa [2013-06-25 18:07:07 +0000 UTC]

Nou sorry, I won't remove those faces directly from the mesh, In other models the back faces are not so important (are copies of the same face texture for issues of the engine than can't draw double faces) but in that model, the back faces have been builded intentionally to can wear a different UVmapping (for the effect of shadows inside the skirt flounces).Without them, the inside of the flounces would looks as shining as the top of the skirt (at least that the culling map were switched off than then would looks with gaps). It doesn't worth damage the model when there are other easiers ways to fix that issue directly with XPS.

The two options are the main way, if there are any bug, maybe could help you better O.ò

If the problem is that you want use 2 models (one with double faces and other without them), the way which I do it is making 2 screenshots, (one with those options activated and another with them desactivated) and overlaping both images on photoshop, I delete the part of one image which looks bad to show the other one which is behind with the options required. At the end, there is one image with the two models and the good effects on boths.

Another alternative is export the scene from XPS to obj so you'll can open it on blender or 3ds max and make the render there. That also have options to deal with the double faces textures.

I found the holsters!!!, they appear in the game, only during the Ada's opening, (in the scene where she is in the office and find the cube-phone), after that, on the submarine and the rest, she hasn't got holsters anymore.

I remember of this message when I found them. XD

That's one of the misteries un-resolved... O.ò, when Soroosh released the model time ago, she already had holsters, I have not checked if the Ada's model file of the final game has holsters too or not... At begin, I didn't noticed it, but some weeks ago, someone told me it and now those holsters catch my sight every time I see this mod XD.

Anyway, my idea is make those holsters as optionals when I remade her with PC textures and orig rigging. (I've to send a list of bugged files to Mariokart to fix some rigging problems, but me, lazy one, I haven't done it yet ).

An Ada with Casual outfit?, I've not planed that yet, What I thougt was a RE4 dress for Ada, but mainly, I'm more keen to do mods of other characters which doesn't have so many outfits yet, as Sherry, Hunnigan and Jake.

By the way, at the moment I've finished another from Piers and now i'm working on other model which is not from Resident Evil, if you need an Ada model meanwhile you can check the gallery:

Ada Wong XNA Lara Mods Umbrella Database: [link]

A lot of them are the RE4 ada head, but at least there are a lot of Adas with different outfits. Ó.ò

hey Adngel!
where are these models coming from?
they're not eeven in the game, is it possible the these models get converted for XPS?

here [link]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Adngel In reply to neromatherson [2013-05-25 16:14:28 +0000 UTC]

They are mesh mods.

There is a modder, Maliweii who is the person who were working in one of the scripts to import/models in RE6. It's not finished yet, what he acomplished to do, was a script which allows you modify the models of the game.

It's to say, he took the model of Ada (Red T-shirt and tight pants), and start to move vertices and re-rig them till obtain that result, so its script doesn't allow customs models yet, but it's a good begining.

Above if it's possible to port them, I think it's, but I had to ask first, there are not models models of the game as you said but a custom work made by other fan, I prefer has his permision before do it.

There is other mod of Jake which is very cool too: [link] by
