For this months:White pencil on black paper.
These "black" drawings are so hard to scan right!
Maybe I will upload a different version...maybe not.

I love this! White on black are so interesting to look at and as an artist they really make you look at what you're drawing and think about how the white would show.
You've the detail immaculately, and the fur on the cat looks too real to be a drawing. Honestly.
The only thing that I would add is a bit of a faint glow around the candles, to make them more realistic and flammable, you know?

Thank you so much for a wonderful comment!!
I had glow around the candles in the first sketches, but decided not to have. Don't remember why

This is excellent! I've never tried working on black. It's a bit intimidating. Do you find yourself using an entirely different technique? we usually have an outline that we focus on when working on white.

I don't know if my way of doing it is the "best" or "normal" way. I just wanted to try it and really liked it
I make an outline first - with graphite, because the white pencil is very hard to erase. You can see it in my first WIP: [link]
I feel that I use the same technique with white pencil, I just draw the highlights in stead of the shadows... I start where I know there should be white and leave as much black areas as possible. And then I just put on more and more white - the same way I would go darker and darker with regular pencil.
You should try it

I agree with ~cloudmilk , it's as if it shines with all those little white dots all over it. Really nice, adds to the Christmas-feeling of it. If you really want constructive criticism, the only thing I noticed that looked odd, was the cat's chin. Or cheek. However you call it. It looks like the nose of the fluffy beast sticks out just a bit too much, it's too pointy. Maybe you could change that by adding more fur on the part from his mouth to his neck? Like it was in your first WIP. I don't know, though, maybe you should just leave it this way. It's beautiful.

Thank you so much for your commment and critism!
I think I get what you mean. The reason it is so big in the first wip is because I had to change the angle from what it was in the reference. And it ended up being a bit "pointy", as you noticed. I think the mouth is to far down, and I don't want to make his chin bigger... You know- cats come in all different shapes, lets just say that it is a mixed breed

Thank you - it is good to hear that it looks "sparkly"... I was unsure if I had added to much "white dots".
